Exploitation of the chemistry and biological activity of some mesityl oxide derived compounds

Description

Some benzoxazepine, benzodiazepine and benzothiazepine derivatives have been synthesized by exploiting the reactivity of mesityl oxide to 2-aminophenol, 2-aminothiophenol and phenylene diamine in the presence different aldehydes. The compounds were characterized using IR, NMR, GC-MS, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffractometry and tested against some cancer cell lines as well as some microbes.
