LIBSENSE Strategic Framework for Open Science

A reference deck setting out how LIBSENSE structures its work: a strategic matrix of three pillars — policy work, capacity building, and infrastructure support — applied consistently across every initiative area. The framework maps those pillars onto on-campus open science communities of practice, open access repositories, open data, research assessment reform, open research infrastructure, and open publishing, naming the partners, agreements and platforms attached to each (COAR, NII Japan, RUFORUM, DORA, UNESCO, CoARA, ORCID, Crossref, EIFL, DOAJ, and infrastructure including BAOBAB, RUMBU, COPPHA and Bookhub).

The second half is operational. It defines the LIBSENSE ECR Champion role — an early-career researcher leading policy, capacity or infrastructure interventions and growing a campus community of practice — and gives them the tools to do it. These include a theory-of-change workplan template (describe the problem, identify networks, plan actions, propose the change), a Measuring Outcome and Impact template for evidencing change and feeding learning into networks of action and influence, and project proposal, concept note and case study templates, each shown with worked examples. This is the framework document to consult alongside any LIBSENSE ECR workshop materials.
